This is a yummylicious dish, looks similar to Braised Mui Choy but tastes different.  For this dish, the dried bok choy is not savoury and has to be seasoned with soy sauce, sugar etc.  Great dish to serve with porridge or rice.

I used a thermal cooker to cook this dish, saves time watching over the stove.  If using a normal pot, it needs about 1 hour.


[serves 3-4]

300 gm roasted pork – cut chunky pieces

200-300 gm rehydrated choy kon **- cut 1 cm wide strips

2 dried red chillies – soaked and cut sections

1-2 star anise

some chopped garlic and ginger

Seasoning [combined in a bowl]

2 tbsp light soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

1 1/2 tbsp nam yee juice

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp sugar
